Hello and welcome. I am Kathy Floen, one of the Design Team Members of Colorful Creations. For my part in all of these wonderful blog challenges I am doing an Altered Canvas. I LOVE altered projects. They are fun and I really can step out of the box and just be creative. :) I truly love them! :)

I love butterflies! They represent so much for me. :) Beauty, love, nature, growing, so much! :) So here is my canvas:
It really is self explanatory! :) I tried to capture the essence of how I feel as a person and how the butterfly represents me.

So, those of you who know me and follow/read my blog...you know I can't do a BLOG HOP without some BLOG CANDY! :) Colorful Creations is also giving away some FUN goodies also so that's a BONUS!! The Cricky Across the 50 Blog Hop: Montana

A Big Cricut Hello & Chirp to each of you! Welcome to the Cricky Across the 50 Blog Hop hosted by K Andrew of Getting Cricky! If you are here from Kathy Northup of I Love My Crazy Life then you are in the right spot. If you just arrived here and would like to start from the beginning please go to KAndrew's Getting Cricky! For this blog hop K Andrew is celebrating her big move across the country with a big road trip, and of course this hop across the 50 states! She has asked us all to post a little bit about the state we are representing, and then to post our Favorite Craft Project. I am representing the state of

MONTANA! :)

Map of MY state!

This is some of what you see in  MY beautiful state! I feel bad though, I didn't take this pic, I got it off of Google Images.
Here is a fact from Legends of America (this link will get you to the facts about MT). It is about the Roe River that yours truly helped get into the Guinness Book of World Records when I was in fifth grade! Here is the fact from the site: The Roe River is recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as the world's shortest river. The Roe flows 200 feet between Giant Springs and the Missouri River near Great Falls. The Roe River competes with the D River in Lincoln City, Oregon for the title of the shortest river. Both rivers have been measured on different occasions, with lengths varying from 58 feet to 200 feet. Schoolchildren in Great Falls campaigned successfully to have the Roe River placed in the Guinness Book of World Records.

Now for my project:
My SMACK card!

Here is a video I did of how I did the card! :)

AND....FINALLY.....Here is my BLOG CANDY!

I decided to do a little project for you all tonight. Every year I make my own camels and give them out to friends and family as gifts. So, this year, I was lucky enough to get a Wrap It Up Cricut Cartridge from my friend. On there is so many fun boxes to make to put fun little gifts in. I chose the Christmas Cottage...because it is cute. :) So, here is my video! :)

Now for the recipe:

Carmels

1 cup butter or margarine
2 1/4 cups brown sugar
Dash of Salt
1 cup light Karo syrup
1 15 ounce can of sweetened condensed milk
1 tsp of vanilla (although, if you know me...I never measure vanilla)

Melt butter in a sauce pan. Add the brown sugar and salt, stir. Blend in Karo syrup. Gradually add milk. Stir constantly over meduim heat until your candy thermometer reached 240 to 245 degrees (firm ball state). Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Pour into a buttered 13x9 inch pan and let cool completely before cutting. To wrap them..I use wax paper.

I hope that you enjoy them. :)

I was lucky enough to get Valerie from Scraps for Less donated a Fancy Pants Christmas Kit that is up for grabs. She has a tremendous site (that is getting re-done but is opening in January) and crazy low prices.

Make sure, to be eligible for prizes, that you become a follower on each blog (including this one) and leave a comment letting us know that you have done so. There's several hundred dollars worth of prizes (see slide show below), so you will definitely want to make sure you are eligible.

Here is a pic of the Fancy Pants Kit!
Now you are done here! Your next stop is Agnes, click here.
