BIA's Summertime Challenge!!!

WOW! I have been out of the blogging scene for quite some time this month, huh? I have been doing a lot of projects and hopefully a couple of them will pan out for me. :) We will see though! :) Now let's get to the fun!!!!!

The Zutter Zisters had another fun challenge on the BIA Blogsite. I have been really loving challenges lately. When I see one..I have to do it! :) Well, the challenge was to make a Summertime project using your Bind-It-All. I himmed and hawed for a while and then realized what would be one of the funnest projects out there and really needed at this time of year. :) My project was a Floen Family Summer Envie Book! I was thinking that it would be nice to keep certain things within reach, so I could just grab it when I needed it. :)
So here it is:

What I used: BIA 5/8" o-wire and BIA tool

Cricut Accent Essentials Cartridge

BoBunny Dotted Cardstock, flowers, cardstock stickers, cutouts, and brads.

My Mind's Eye "Breaking Free" Just Chillin' Accessories

American Crafts Plastic Flowers

Bling is from Michaels

Square Bling is from Glitz

DCWV Patterned Paper

Metal Flowers are from Colorbok

CTMH Waxy Flax

Beads are from Walmart

Bazzil Bling Brads

Polymark Puff Paint

I hope you like it and thanks for looking! :)

Zutter's Man Made-Hand Made Challenge! :)

A couple of years ago I was SO AFRAID of my BIA that I left it in its box and just stared at it! :) AND THEN....I ended up at the Zutter Zisters' Blog and go everyday to see if there is a new post of news, design team projects, or a challenge. :) A few days ago they had a post of a challenge to make a Masculine Project in honor of Father's Day. I thought, "WONDERFUL!" I needed a gift for my dad and this was a good way to get 2 birds with 1 stone! :)

I knew what I wanted to do for my dad. :) I feel he would need a message board for his garage, since he is almost always in there. :)
I started with a Zutter Clipboard Wood Cover and some silver o-wires, a piece of cork, and an idea of what I wanted to do. I knew not only did he need a message board, but he also needed to be able to have a bottle opener for his beverage bottles and also a pen to write down notes on the Post-it notes that I provided on the board.
This is more of a focus on the board itself. I tried to include everything he would need on the board. I had the family phone numbers put on there. Some hinge clips for what he may need to clip on there. I also put some tacks on there for pics or messages.

A little bit of focus on what holds the keys. :)

The finished project! :)

What I used: Bind-it-All, Zutter BIA Silver o-wire, hemp, Tim Holtz Idea-o-logy "Love" key, hinge clips, Alpha Grundgeboard, Post-It Notes, CTMH Marker/Pens for writing the phone numbers and distressing the paper where the phone numbers were written, parchment paper, Quartet 6x6 cork board, Ranger Paint Dabber (espresso), Crop-a-dile, Making Memories typed eyelets(I flattened the backs with my Crop-a-dile), DYMO label maker and black tape, Zig paint pen in black and silver to color the tops of the tacks.

I hope you can use this idea and make it your own! :) Enjoy and Happy Father's day to you and the Special Men in your LIFE! :)

Houston, we have a winner! ;)

Hey everyone! :) Well, if you aren't in my immediate circle then you probably didn't get the call today that I won a contest that I had entered a while back. :) I was so excited when I went to the BIA Blogsite today and started to read about the winners of the BIA's Beyond the Book Challenge. :) Just like with the Tim Holtz Kit I won last week, I didn't realize that I had actually won until I saw proof. I was reading about one of the winner's "me" layout...I even read MY NAME! BUT, it wasn't until I SAW my layout staring me in the face that I realized....OH MY GOSH!!!! I WON! :)

FYI, I am almost done with my "Weekend ME" minibook! :) So that is coming soon! :)

"me" Layout

Ok...for all of you that know me, I have NEVER done a layout that is all about me! BUT....Lain Ehmann over at the LOAD Challenge had as a prompt to do a LO about "crazy family life" =, she put in there we could do a schedule if we wanted to. :) Then over at Scrapbook.com, they asked for a LO that is all about "me". I was like....YIKES!!! Does anyone scrap about themselves? Well the answer to that is: YES! :) And today, I became one of them! :)

I pulled out my Bind-it-all, my Teresa Collins Paper, Bling, my rose bud Memento marker and got to work.

I started with writing my schedule for during the week, during the school year on the Teresa Collins- Journal-It Girl 12x12 paper. I almost didn't have enough room on the paper and I didn't have enough pics of me for a 2 page LO, so I smushed it down a bit!

Next, came the pics...I have been trying to take more of myself for projects and pages and stuff so I did have some of those. :) So I printed one out in Black and White and another out in color. Then came the time to put them on....YIKES....I was gonna be taking up a lot of space with just 2 pics! So....I knew that BIA had a challenge to use your BIA for any project that wasn't a book. So, that is what I did. I put the BIA to work. I punched the holes and put my o-wire in. Once that was done, I put pink and black dotted ribbon through the o-wire. I finally put velcro dots on the bottom of each pic, so if/when people wanted to see my schedule....they could just lift the pic and there it was! :) I added a little ephemera too. :) The pink rose was cut from a card I got at Goodwill that just "spoke" to me! :) Then I added some small "me" touches and some bling and WALLA....a ME LO! :)

This is the layout, the top title portion has "me" and the bottom has, "Subject "2" changE", is that not the truth!!

The picture being lifted to reveal the rest of my schedule! :)

This is just the second picture being lifted, but you can see the velcro dot better! :)

What I used: Teresa Collins Journal-It Girl 12x12 paper

Memento Rose Bud Marker (fine tip end)

Me and My Big Ideas Icon Bling (crown)

Micheal's $$ Bin (heart bling images)

Michael's Bling (butterflies, flowers, reg. stones)

Creative Memories Letter Stickers

Finally my House of 3 Project!!!! YAY!

Ok.....it has been a week around here! :) We have been spring cleaning, crafting, battling illnesses, etc., etc.! LOL! I was even sick if you will believe that! Of course, as Garth always says, "You are always sick for only a day!" I can't help it....good genetics (Thanks Dad!) and the fact that I may very well have a garlic garden in my system! LOL! Poor Sasha is still sick and just pitiful! :( Nobody does sick quite like her! She is our resident princess in our home and so sweet, but lately she has just been hurting so not herself. :( I am hoping she is good this week or I am homeward bound.
Anyways- I got my House of 3 book done and love it! :) I am thinking of doing some as gifts and actually just using the fork and spoon page that has yellow polka dots on it for a cookbook gift! This kit is so versatile and I love it! :) Thanks Heidi, Rhonna, and Janet for creating such a fun project that literally is worth every dime! :) In posts below this one I go through some of the products used, but not all of them.....I was just on automatic creative pilot! LOL! I used Grundgeboard, perfect pearls mist, Stampin' Up's embossing template, my BIA, Teresa Collin's chipboard charms, ribbons from Michael's, My Mind's Eye rub ons, Tattered Angels Glimmer Chips, and some word charms from Tim Holtz (the real name escapes me right now).
I am also getting ready for Lain Ehmann's LOAD (Layout a Day) for May. :) I will post more on that later....definitely something that is GREAT for inspiration for getting a jump on scrapping! :)

My Project For MOMS' Chocolate Crop! :)

I was so worried that I would not like the outcome and that my project for Friday's Chocolate Crop would suck, but I am so happy with the outcome! :) Can you see me doing the "happy dance"?

What I used: **I am giving measurements this time for my peeps who can't be there! :)**
-2 pieces of Cardboard/chipboard cut 3.5"w x 5.75"h
-2 pieces of American Crafts cardstock cut 3.5"w x 5.75h (I used brown, but you can do whatever you want...make it yours!)
-2 pieces of patterned paper cut 3.5"w x 5.75"h (I used DCWV, but use whatever!)
-BIA (Bind-it-all)
-5/8" BIA coils (6)
-Ribbon (I used 3 different types and I get all of my ribbon from Michael's $$$ bin.
-I used a metal rimmed, vellum tag that I got from QVC, like 5 years ago.
-Stampin' Up Set: For the Love of Chocolate!
-Versamark stamp pad
-Embossing powders: Silver Tinsel (There was this lady that did a stamp store out of her house here in town and I think maybe she got it in bulk) and Teddy Bear (I got this at Stamp Happy in Helena...I think maybe they made it?!)
-CTMH Stamp Pad- Chocolate
-American Crafts- Metallic Paper
-Parchment Paper for your printer
-I made the lines for the notebook by doing CTRL+U (underline) and tabbing to the end of the page. Then I printed it out on regular printer paper 10 times. :) CINCH-O!
This is a totally simple project and I LOVED doing it and I am positive I will do ok teaching it. Some of you that know me, know this is a HUGE fear for me! But...I am prepared and excited for this. Besides those who matter will be cool with it and those who don't.....well, you know what I want to say, but I would like it if I didn't always have to use that type of language! :) LOL!
